John has written a number of songs including  "If you were coming" (Emily Dickinson) which was premiered in Canada in 2010, "Margaret" and "Eyes that last I saw in tears". A "Prelude & Fugue" for organ was broadcast live on Radio 3 in the 1990s whilst Worthing Symphony Orchestra premiered "Fixer's Galop"  - a tribute to the retiring fixer of Worthing Symphony Orchestra, Peter Craen, after over forty year's service to the orchestra. Other works for Worthing include "Pilsner Tanz" -  a humerous reworking of themes from Bruckner's Ninth Symphony and an orchestration for winds and brass of Jehan Alain's organ piece "Le Jardin Suspendu" in memory of this great French organist and composer killed in action in 1940.

"I heard your Prelude and Fugue and was quite thrilled by it...written with a true love of, and understanding for the organ"
